Purpose

To develop and establish communication and networking between researchers in the biosciences, engineering and the physical sciences in the area of synthetic biology, with associated input from the social sciences and humanities. 

Key aims

  • Develop and establish communication and networking between researchers in the biosciences, engineering and the physical sciences in the area of synthetic biology, with associated input from the social sciences and humanities
  • Form innovative interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary partnerships within and beyond these disciplines
  • Overcome research language barriers and stimulate cross-fertilisation of ideas, methods, practices and technologies, and encourage creative approaches to research and research processes
  • Build a cohesive, cross-disciplinary community in synthetic biology that will enable researchers to respond effectively to research challenges, funding opportunities and international activities
