Purpose

To support the development of novel technologies/methods to enable the academic community to respond rapidly to existing and emerging biological challenges.

Key aims

To support small or short-duration, pump priming, technology/method-driven research projects. This includes supporting early stage pilot investigations of new tools and technologies, rapid exploitation of the latest cutting edge technology and improvement of existing technologies through novel modifications
To facilitate data sharing within the bioscience community
To support projects to test mathematical or statistical approaches on existing biological datasets which could, potentially, lead to new biological understanding
To bring together communities for collaborative purposes
