Purpose

To support collaborative research projects focused on understanding the biology of ageing.

Key aims

• To encourage the development of collaborative US-UK research teams
• To further scientific knowledge of the basic mechanisms underlying biological ageing at the molecular, cellular, biochemical and physiological levels
• To aid in future development of biologically-based intervention strategies to delay or prevent age-related functional decline and age-related diseases
• To extend the health spans of US and UK populations
