Purpose

To support small or short-duration pump-priming research projects and/or bring together communities for collaborative purposes, including resource or standards development, in areas of strategic importance
To initiate novel technology or methods driven activities to facilitate the development and uptake of new approaches to enable advances in bioscience, within the remit of our Strategic Plan 2010-2015 (see releated links) and the strategic research priorities

Key aims

The s-TRDF aims to encourage applications that interface Enabling Theme 2, of the Strategic Plan, called 'Exploiting New Ways of Working' with the areas of our strategic research priorities:

Food security
Industrial biotechnology and bioenergy
Basic bioscience underpinning health
