Purpose

Research applications are to address eight broad areas of research referred to as activity lines and/or from within them, address a specific subtopic.

Each activity line and specific research subtopic will be funded by a combinations of different countries (see page 28 of the 'Full call text' in the downloads section)

Key aims

UK applications must align with one of the two following remits:

• BBSRC will support research within our scientific remit that address certain activity lines including any of the associated subtopics that are in our remit (see 'Our portfolio' in the related links section.)
• Defra will support research within the specific topics highlighted in the UK column of the annex on page 28 of the 'Full call text' document (see downloads section)
