Knowledge Transfer Networks
UK-wide networks designed to stimulate innovation in key technology sectors by promoting collaboration, best practice and knowledge sharing between industry and academia.
Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs) are funded by Innovate UK.
We are involved with two KTNs that encourage partnerships in strategically important areas of bioscience:
- HealthTech and medicines KTN: accelerating innovation and technology exploitation in the broad health industries sector. The KTN now incorporates BioProcessUK and continues its activities in relation to advancing the UK biopharmaceutical bioprocessing sector, including providing support for the Bioprocessing Research for Industry Club (BRIC).
- Biosciences KTN: driving the conversion of the UK's bioscience knowledge into innovative agricultural, food and industrial bioscience products and processes, including providing support for the Diet and Health Research Industry Club (DRINC) and the Crop Improvement Research Club (CIRC). The KTN also receives an allocation of Industrial CASE studentships to support collaborative training between relevant academic and industry partners.
