Eligibility for Research Council funding

The Department of Trade and Industry has refined the criteria for eligibility for research council funding.

In the new framework, eligible organisations fall into three categories:

  • UK higher education institutions (HEIs)
  • Research Council institutes
  • Independent research organisations (IROs)
