BBSRC funded scientists enter new frontier of structural biology

Scientists funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) have developed a new technique for investigating proteins that allow drugs to get in and out of the cells in our bodies. Against currently held dogma, they have shown that interactions within membrane complexes can be maintained intact in the vacuum of a mass spectrometer in order that the nature of these proteins and their function can be investigated in the finest detail.
