Changes to the BBSRC research grant final report form
1 August 2008
BBSRC is making some changes to research grant final reports with effect from 1 August. This is the result of a cross-research council project that considered what changes could be made to achieve efficiency savings and to reduce the burden on the research community. In BBSRC it has been agreed to reduce the length of the scientific attachment, as this is the part on which PIs have been shown to spend the most time. The current 4-page attachment will be reduced to a brief 1-page questionnaire focusing on the main achievements arising from the grant and whether or not the original objectives were met.
The next phase of the project will concentrate on developing a system to collect outputs and outcomes from research grants, which will be introduced during 2009. In the meantime, outputs and outcomes will continue to be collected in their current format via Je-S.
