Hannah Ingamells from Peter Symonds College in Winchester won a silver medal at the challenging five-day competition, alongside Adam Wright from Reading School. Daniel Rowlands also from Reading School, won a bronze.

Dr Celia Caulcott, Director of Innovation and Skills, BBSRC said "We congratulate these young scientists for representing themselves and their country so well. It is a tough competition and we are delighted that they have maintained the UK's strong record in always returning with a medal."

The UK team were a member short due to the fourth member falling ill shortly before the team flew out.
