UK students return from Korea with medal haul

The UK Biology Olympiad team, sponsored by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), returned from this year's International Biology Olympiad, held in South Korea, with two silver medals and one bronze.

Hannah Ingamells from Peter Symonds College in Winchester won a silver medal at the challenging five-day competition, alongside Adam Wright from Reading School. Daniel Rowlands also from Reading School, won a bronze.
Dr Celia Caulcott, Director of Innovation and Skills, BBSRC said "We congratulate these young scientists for representing themselves and their country so well. It is a tough competition and we are delighted that they have maintained the UK's strong record in always returning with a medal."
The UK team were a member short due to the fourth member falling ill shortly before the team flew out.
