Summer students to get flavour of research
3 November 2010
The John Innes Centre, an institute of BBSRC, and The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich are running a summer undergraduate research programme for 2011. The aim is to give promising students a flavour of research through an eight week lab project and participation in weekly training events.
The programme gives students the opportunity to gain research experience in plant and microbial sciences, working alongside world-leading and internationally recognised scientists. It is open to students in any scientific discipline.
Participants are housed together in free accommodation and provided with a weekly stipend.
The summer undergraduate research programme is funded by BBSRC, the Gatsby Foundation and the Nuffield Foundation.
The deadline for applications is 21 February 2011. Further details and the online application process are available from: http://opportunities.jic.ac.uk/summerprogramme/index.htm.
