BBSRC congratulates new Fellows of the Royal Society

BBSRC wishes to congratulate all of those scientists who were honoured today by being elected Fellows of the Royal Society.
11 researchers from the BBSRC community were recognised for their achievements including former BBSRC Innovator of the Year, Professor Shankar Balasubramanian of the University of Cambridge and Professor Andrew Millar Director of the BBSRC Systems Biology centre at the University of Edinburgh. Prof Balasubramanian's partner in setting up Solexa sequencing, Professor David Klenerman, was also made a Fellow.
Professor Douglas Kell, BBSRC Chief Executive, said "I would like to offer my congratulations to all of those scientists who have been made Fellows of the Royal Society today. They have been honoured in recognition of their scientific achievements and so take a deserved placed amongst some of the world's most eminent scientists, past and present."
