Increase in parental leave from 13 weeks to 18 weeks

The right to unpaid parental leave increased from 13 weeks to 18 weeks from 8 March 2013. This change is required under the Parental Leave Directive (2010/18/EC), which increased the minimum parental leave provision from 3 to 4 months. Paragraph 7 of appendix 8.8 has been amended accordingly.

Amendment 151

Redundancy and redeployment

The options form (RC5) in appendix A14.7 has been amended to make it clear that redeployment to other establishments will only be to those that employ new staff on BBSRC terms and conditions of employment, and that if the employee elects to appeal, they have 20 working days to do so.

Mr R Lilley has replaced Mr J Philcox as the management nominee on the Redundancy and Redeployment Committee - see appendix A14.4i.

The other pages listed above have been amended to show that the Redeployment Committee is now the Redundancy and Redeployment Committee.

Simplification of standard rent calculation

This amendment has been made to simplify the process of standard rent calculation and enable establishment management to calculate standard rent based on local rental prices (see paragraph 4.1 of appendix A2.3)
