Appendix A7.6 has been amended to show the details of the 2013 pay award.

All references to the personal performance development review (PPDR) in the Employment Code have been changed to appraisal and personal development review (APDR). This is to ensure consistency following the implementation of the research council appraisal and personal development review policy, as part of the policy harmonisation (employment code amendment 167)
Following a review of the Postgraduate research information on the employment code, it has been decided that Section B2 is now obsolete as BBSRC no longer recruits into postgraduate research training roles. It has therefore been deleted.

The Health and Safety team have worked with MRC and NERC to produce a joint security policy, which replaces appendix a9.5.

You will be aware that the Research Councils (excluding MRC) will be moving to a harmonised set of non-pay employment terms and conditions from 1 January 2014 and as such the BBSRC Employment Code has been reviewed and updated. The structure of the Code has remained but sections have been deleted where these are now covered by the harmonised policies and links have been inserted instead where these are appropriate.
Please refer to the spreadsheet below, which lists the new harmonised policies and details which parts of the Employment Code have been replaced with these policies or have been converted to HR guidance notes. It also details which parts of the original code remain unchanged.
If you are maintaining a hard copy of the Employment Code you will need to print out the whole Code including the harmonised policies which are in PDF format.
