Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the newest manifestation of the European Framework Programme, formerly called FP7, operating in the European Research Area.

Running from 2014-2020, it has an overall budget of €80Bn. A portion of this will go towards the work of the European Research Council (ERC), which funds basic research across the life and physical sciences, engineering and humanities and social science.

It will also aim to bridge the gap between research and enterprise by providing capital support for SMEs.
