Lifelong health exhibition

Lifelong health - bioscience of ageing

November 2007

This exhibition describes how scientists are responding to the ageing challenge by researching the causes, prevention and treatment of age-related illness.

Ensuring that an increasingly ageing population stays healthy and mobile is a challenge both for the government and the research community. Health and wellbeing are lifelong processes, and Research Councils UK spend over £80 million a year on ageing research, a broad and complex field encompassing both the ageing of individuals and the population, and the health and wellbeing of older people.

This exhibit focuses on the research carried out by BBSRC and the Medical Research Council.
