CREST awards

A project-based award scheme for secondary-age students. It aims to recognise and accredit students’ achievements in science, technology, engineering and maths.

  • Motivates and encourages students of all ages and abilities
  • Allows students to explore their own ideas and interests within science
  • Develops problem-solving skills
  • Helps to bridge the gap between science in the classroom and the “real world”, preparing students for the world of work
  • Provides a focus for the development of Key Skills
  • Encourages links between schools and industry using a mentoring scheme
  • Enhances the delivery of the National Curriculum

This national scheme is run by the British Science Association, with some funding support from Research Councils UK.
