Recruitment open for BBSRC Council

Call status: Closed

The UK Research and Innovation Board is seeking to appoint up to 12 BBSRC Council members for when BBSRC becomes part of UK Research and Innovation.

BBSRC is seeking applications in the following areas

  • Frontier bioscience (two vacancies)
  • Agri-food and agri-tech (two vacancies)
  • Bioscience for health (one vacancy)
  • Industrial biotechnology and bioenergy (one vacancy)
  • Advanced capabilities (infrastructure) (one vacancy)
  • Emerging technologies (one vacancy)
  • Data driven biosciences (one vacancy)
  • Pharmaceuticals (one vacancy).

Sir Mark Walport, Chief Executive designate of UK Research and Innovation said: “It is absolutely essential that the councils that will make up the future UK Research and Innovation are properly reflective of the community at large. These council members will be role models and leaders to the rest of the community and that is why I want to make sure that equality, diversity and inclusion are an important part of the selection process.

“These roles will play a vital part in the creation of UK Research and Innovation and I look forward to them attracting the highest quality candidates from right across the spectrum.”
