Purpose

To develop an active and cohesive cross-disciplinary community at the mathematics/systems biology interface.

Key aims

To increase the number of collaborative applications to BBSRC addressing specific challenges in systems biology
To encourage the inclusion of branches of mathematics that have not been traditionally associated with biology
To encourage systems biological applications at all levels of biological organisation

Outputs

All 5 funded networks have commenced their grants
Each network has activities planned for the 3 year period, including workshops and summer schools
A grant holders workshop was held in 2008
