Horticulture Knowledge Exchange Fellowship
A joint call with the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC)
Call for appointment status: Open
Application deadline: 29 October 2014, 4pm
Together with NERC's industry-academic Collaborative Programmes of Research we are providing platforms for a Knowledge Exchange (KE) Fellow to bring tangible benefits to business performance through sustained knowledge exchange and effective research translation.
With a primary focus on Horticulture and Potato Initiative (HAPI), but also looking across the industry-academic collaborative programme portfolio, the KE Fellow is to work with the Horticulture Innovation Partnership (HIP2) to develop and implement strategies to:
- Develop a thriving, interdisciplinary scientific community, working with business and undertaking research translation within and at the interface of the biosciences and environmental sciences
- Drive innovation to realise the full potential of research outputs to deliver economic, social and environmental benefits
Accelerated uptake of research outputs and exposure to the research community is strategically important to businesses addressing challenges that may affect their long term sustainability and ambition. The KE Fellow will therefore enable industry to engage in greater depth with the research community, allowing their businesses and supply chains to access NERC and BBSRC research investments and capability.
