Summary

A review panel has provided an independent evaluation of two programmes of BBSRC-supported genomics research:

The Investigating Gene Function (IGF) initiative
Genomics research funded through responsive mode

Objectives

To assess the quality of the research supported
To identify the major outcomes and impacts arising from the research
To assess the extent to which the original objectives of the IGF initiative were met
To assess the extent to which the IGF initiative enabled the wider research community to incorporate genomics approaches and technologies into their research programmes
To identify ways to build on successes and address identified gaps and issues
