Co-operation in Science and Technology (COST)
A Europe-wide scheme to encourage co-operation in science and technology, with 46 participating countries including the member states of the EU.
BBSRC plays a role in COST management through representation on relevant Technical Committees and by providing an information service to UK researchers.
COST currently assists with the costs of co-ordination of over 200 actions. It does not fund research activities. COST funding covers co-ordination expenses of actions (scientific secretariat, contribution to workshops and conferences, publications, short term scientific missions etc).
