Search facility help
Every page on our website has a search box in the top right-hand corner. Type your search term and hit the 'Enter' key on your keyboard or select the 'Search' magnifying glass button.
If you are searching for a term with more than one word (e.g. research committee) all results will automatically contain both words – you do not need to type 'research AND committee' or 'research + committee'.
If you want to search for the entire phrase 'research committee' you will need to add quote marks around the phrase: "research committee".
Wildcards can be used. For example, entering 'eng*' will bring back results containing engineering, engineers, engagement. English etc.
Our search facility includes filtering options on the right-hand side of the search results page. No filters will be set by default.
You can filter the search results by page or file and by sections of our website, e.g. Public engagement. You will also have the option to search on other websites, e.g. BBSRC Chief Executive's blog, BBSRC grants (Portfolio Analyser) or Gateway to Research.
Simply select 'File', 'Page' or the name of a section of our website to display only those results. For example, selecting 'File' will show only documents in the results displayed and selecting 'Public engagement' will only show results from that section of the website.
To return to the full list of search results select the 'Show all' option.
If you require further assistance in using the search function, or cannot find what you are looking for, please contact us.
