Biology in the Real World
The Nucleus Group, a group of learned societies and similar not for profit organisations which include BBSRC, host a series of talks each year at the Association for Science Education (ASE) conference on 'Biology in the Real World' (BitRW). This session has run for over 8 years and is now an established part of the ASE conference programme.
2013
In 2013 the Nucleus Group hosted a series of Biology in the Real World talks on the theme Brilliant Breakthroughs. Mediasite recordings of the presentations are available below.
We sponsored the talk by the 2012 BBSRC Social Innovator of the Year Professor Russell Foster on Light, body clocks and sleep. In conjunction with the talks we ran practical workshops for teachers showcasing a new resource on the topics of vision and the eye at the 'Biology in the Real World' practical drop in (see downloads).
